About the Event
Light a candle against the darkness and pull up a chair as Linda presents her annual Winter Solstice Readings. She'll focus on New York City's influence on the historic American Christmas. From Clement Clark Moore's "A Visit From St. Nicholas" and the NY Sun's editorial "Yes, Virginia" to O Henry's "The Gift of the Magi", we will see how the city transformed the holiday and enriched our celebrations. Included will be a discussion of the background of Tin Pan Alley Christmas tunes. Bergen County History is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
