About the Event
Come celebrate Brigid’s Day and Candlemas with the Bergen County Historical Society on Sunday January 26th, 1 pm- 5 pm at Historic New Bridge Landing 1201 Main Street, River Edge NJ.
The main room of the 267-year-old Steuben House will a feature musical performance.
A new exhibit featuring BCHS’s collections of New Netherland and Jersey-Dutch artifacts will also be on display in the Steuben House.
All three 18th century Jersey Dutch sandstone houses are open for tours throughout the day with knowledgeable interpreters who will share stories about the lives of earlier Bergen residents.
Be sure to stop by the tavern for some seasonal refreshments or peek at the treasures in the gift shop.
Don’t forget to visit the society’s authentic Jersey-Dutch out-kitchen where interpreters will be demonstrating the 18th century craft of candle making using authentic materials.
