New Bridge Landing at River Edge
Join us today to welcome Governor Jon Corzine to HNBL

Dear Friend of Historic New Bridge Landing,

Governor Jon Corzine will visit Historic New Bridge Landing to ceremonially sign the Historic New Bridge Landing Park legislation, which recently passed the Legislature unanimously. The Historic New Bridge Landing Park Commission and the Bergen County Historical Society cordially invite you to attend the ceremony at the Zabriskie-Steuben House, 1209 Main Street, River Edge, at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, June 9, 2009. At 2 PM, the Governor will "unveil"  the new sign changing the name of the North Hackensack NJ Transit station to New Bridge Landing. The Demarest House, adjacent to the Steuben House, which the Blauvelt-Demarest Foundation is presently restoring, will be open to show the great progress being made in preserving and interpreting this Revolutionary War battleground. The Historical Society will provide refreshments. Join us at the Bridge That Saved A Nation for this special occasion. Come a little early!

I don't usually attend this type of thing, but I thought this one was interesting and important. Whereas I used to be weighed down by tons of photo equipment in my rock and roll photography days, now I just bring my camera cell phone and hope for the best.

Outdoors it's great, indoors it's decent for still objects, but horrible for anything that can move, like people.

So I got the indoor/outdoor prelim stuff, botched the signing, and semi-redeemed myself at the sign unveiling.

Here are 10 shots taken at the Steuben House:
