Pictured here are HNBL Commission officers Mary Donohue, Jim Bellis, Senator Loretta Weinberg, Kevin Wright, Chairman Mike Trepicchio and Governor Jon Corizine.
We were honored by the Governor's visit and the opportunity to promote HNBL.

Very exciting times for BCHS!

We gave Governor Corizine a brief historical orientation and explained the role of the different stake holders, including BCHS, the largest landowner at HNBL. We asked for his support on several critical issues ranging from updating the Commission's jurisdictional boundaries and powers to changing the name of the North Hackensack Train Station to Historic New Bridge.

We appreciate the Governor taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with us!  We are very encouraged and look forward to continuing the dialog and are grateful to Senator Weinberg for arranging this historic visit.

Re: Today's Record: A plea for ailing historic park

The photo at this link is actually the Demarest House Museum, the caption reads "The Steuben House is just one historic landmark within the New Bridge Landing Park."

The article is clear about some of the issues at HNBL including the need to transfer administrative control of all state lands and buildings at Historic New Bridge Landing to the Historic New Bridge Landing Park Commission, together with a line-item budget appropriation sufficient to administer and operate the historic park.

Senator Loretta Weinberg is seeking cosponsors for legislation reallocating any State funds appropriated to the NJDEP Division of Parks and Forestry for, or related to, the administration of the Steuben House or Historic New Bridge Landing State Park to the HNBLP Commission. http://bergencountyhistory.org/forums/index.php/topic,311.0.html
