Today I went to Ross Dock, shot the Palisades, walked under the bridge, and then walked on the bridge to shoot the horizontal flag on a super-windy day.
I've split the shoot into 3 posts. This one shows the huge US flag that flies from the Jersey tower. I photographed it from as many angles as I could from the river up to the Bridge sidewalk.
The wind was brutal on the bridge - so much so that I felt very unsteady while looking straight up to take a picture. I had to lean on a railing to keep from falling over.
As you can see, the wind also had quite an effect on the massive flag. The last photo was taken from under the bridge at river level. You can see the sidewalk railing at the tower and the flag laid out completely horizontal by the wind. It's an amazing perspective.
