Pascak Historical Society Event for Kids in February
« on: January 14, 2008, 12:49:23 PM »
The Pascack Historical Society's PASCACK ADVENTURES, the educational arm of the Pascack Historical Society, will sponsor an enrichment program for children from Grades 1-5.

Sunday, February 3 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. youngsters will be taken back in time during  “ Colonial Times in the Pascack Valley”.  Activities will include the making of a type of pottery known as “slipware”, playing a History Detective game in the museum itself and making butter, the “old fashioned way” -- to spread on the corn muffins they will make from scratch.
The workshop will be taught by volunteers Barbara Farina, George Sherman and Marie Hennesy, all licensed New Jersey teachers.  Society vice-president Jackie Martin will oversee all the baking preparations.  A $5 donation per child is asked to cover the cost of materials. Parents are welcome to stay through out the day if they wish.  REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED since space is limited. Call George Sherman at 201-664-7924.
