Looking for information on Aaron Sweezy
« on: July 16, 2007, 11:32:01 PM »
My 4x grandfather Aaron Sweezy was a member of the Queens rangers. He lost
property in Bergen county after the defeat of the British. He came to NB Canada in 1783. I would appreciate any info or direction that anyone could possible give me of any records of his existence in NJ Bergen County. We do not know who his parents were or even his wifes last name. Any information or direction would be greatly appreciated.

His name appears here: Property Confiscations, Bergen County

Great Britain, Public Record Office, Audit Office, Class 12, Volume 85, folios 43-46.

I assume this is jamesgar's site: sweezy.net

1786 - Claim for Loss - Aaron Swesey

Another record appears here.

Thankyou for the info. Some I already know but I still apreciate your help. The Amos you you helped me with is not Aaron. Aaron died in canada. The problem is we know nothing of his time in the United States (NJ) The Sweezey.net site isnt able to identify his parentage or be positive about it. We do know he was born In 1746-47. We know he was with the Queens rangers and we know they left NY in 1783 . Thanks again for your help its great to have people with the same interests. This is a wonderful site!!!
